Learning Experiences - Module 7

1.  7.36 Learning Experience 9: Anxiety and CRA 7.37

You will probably want to print this page so that you have the assignment in front of you as you work the learning experiences and interact in the conference rooms.

7.36 Learning Experience 9: Anxiety

This assignment may need most of this module to complete.  Get an early start!

Team assignments will be posted in the Announcements page on BlackBoard.

You may organize the work any way you would like.  However, there does appear to be the need for one person to collect the data.

You are to conduct the experiment.  Be sure to select subjects who regularly participate in competitive, organized sport.  Take advantage of a member of your group who has access to athletes who are currently competing at the college level, if you can.  You are to present the analysis of the data (including a table with the raw data).  Be sure to compute both correlations (SCAT and cognitive state anxiety, as well as SCAT and somatic state anxiety).  Plot the correlations as shown in L.E. #4.  (See Figure 4.3 on page 35).  You are to answer the discussion questions on page 91.  In addition, you are to write up the experiment.  In the abstract, include: introduction including theoretical background, purpose, hypothesis(ses), methods, results, discussions, and conclusions.

Email your Learning Experience to me. There will be no discussions of the results.

Please NOTE:  For this Learning Experience, individual group members will be asked to evaluate the contributions of each group member.  This evaluation and the quality of the product will serve as the basis for your Learning Experience grade.
